What is Science …? அறிவியல் என்றால் என்ன… ?
எப்பொருள் எத்தன்மைத் தாயினும் அப்பொருள்
மெய்ப்பொருள் காண்பது அறிவு. குறள். 355
எந்த ஒரு பொருள், எவ்வியல்பு
உடையதாயினும் அப்பொருளின் உண்மைத் தன்மையை ஆராய்ந்து அறிவதே அறிவாம்.
இயற்கை அறிவியலை
ஆழமாக ஆராய்ந்த சான்றோர்களில் தமிழ்ச் சான்றோர் பெருமக்கள் முன்னோடிகளாகத் திகழ்கின்றனர்.
“ Science – a
branch of knowledge requiring systematic study and method – especially one of
those dealing with substances ……..” – animal and vegetable life and natural
laws……..”
பொருள்களின் இருப்பையும் இயல்பையும் அறிவதே அறிவியல்.

“Whatever be
the apparent diversity of things, it is wisdom,
To analyses
and perceive the basic truth of the
matter”.
The enlightened man who has true understanding, will be
able to uncover the differing exteriors and lay bare the one central and
immanent substance of all things of this world. Emerson’s concept of the ‘over
soul’ based on the Upanishadic belief in cosmic unity conforms to Valluvar’s
philosophy. And T.S. Eliot’s line, “ All things affirm thee in living”. Also
echoes the same idea.
Valluvar
does not believe in the mere acceptance of things only on the basis of
tradition or sanctity. He wants the core of ultimate truth to be arrived at, by
going right behind appearances with vigorous use of reason.” (Tr.) Dr.S.M. Diaz.
In the same
way, our great ancient Tamil poets analyzed each and everything in a scientific
manner.
இக்குறள், அறிவியல் என்பதற்கு இலக்கணம் கூறுகிறது ; இப்பொழுது
புரிகிறதா திருவள்ளுவரின் அறிவியல் அறிவாற்றல். வள்ளுவர் வகுத்தளித்துள்ள இவ்விலக்கணத்தை
அவர் அருளிய 1330 அருங்குறட்பாக்களிலும் பொருத்திப்படியுங்கள் , அறிவு வளம் பெறும்.
