தலைவனைப் பிரிந்து
தனித்திருக்கும்
தலைவிக்குப் புறாவின்
கொஞ்சு மொழி
அவள் உள்ளத்தே
காதல் உணர்ச்சியை
எழுப்பியதாகப் புலவர்
பாடியுள்ளார். புலவர்
தன் புலமைத்
திறத்தால், காதல் பறவைகள் விடுக்கும்
அழைப்புக்கும் காதல்
மொழிக்கும் வேறுபாடு
அறிந்த திறமும்
புறாக்களில் ஆண்,
பெண் வேறுபாடு
அறிந்த திறமும்
அறிவியல் கண்கொண்டு
நோக்குதற்குரியன.
Love call
of a Pigeon or Dove
“The quotation
noted above from Natrinai explains that the whispering sound of a love-lorn
brown – legged male dove instigate the romantic feelings of a lady-love
separated from her lover. The Tamil Poet easily distinguish a wooing or
enticing call of a male dove from its mating call. His minute observation and
power of audition are highly remarkable.
Ornithologists
observe that the musical sound or the calls of the dove are identical to the
