இவ்வதிகாரத்திலுள்ள ஏனைய குறட்பாக்களையும் நோக்குக.

கண்டது மன்னும் ஒருநாள் அலர்மன்னும்

திங்களைப் பாம்புகொண் டற்று. - 1146

யாம் காதலரைக் கண்டது ஒருநாளேயாகும். அதனால் உண்டான அலர் அந்த அளவின்றித் திங்களைப் பாம்புகொண்டது  போன்று அலர் எங்கும் பரவிவிட்டது.

கண்ணொடு கண் போரிடுதலைக் “ கண்பொர மற்று..” கண்கள் ஊரனொடு பொருத அளவில்.. குறுந்.364

”கண்தர வந்த காம ஒள் எரி ”– தலைவனைக்கண்ட கண்கள் தந்தமையால் உண்டாகிய -  கண் என்னும் பொறியினால் தரப்பட்ட காமமாகிய தீ உள்ளத்தளவில் நில்லாது என்புவரை அகத்தே சென்று…. என்கிறாள் தலைவி. குறுந். 305

“ கண்வலைப்படூஉம் கானலன் …” பரதவர் மடமகள் கண்வலையில் என் நெஞ்சம்பட்டு ஆண்டே தங்கிவிட்டது என்கிறான் தலைவன். குறுந். 184

”எண்ணரு நலத்தினாள் இனையள் நின்றுழி

கண்ணொடு கண்ணினைக் கவ்வி ஒன்றையொன்று

உண்ணவும் நிலைபெறாது உணர்வும் ஒன்றிட

அண்ணலும் நோக்கினான் அவளும் நோக்கினாள்”  – எனக்  கம்பர் கண்கள் வழிக் காதல் பிறந்த நிலையை எடுத்துரைப்பார்.

Power of eye contact can make people fall in love

              Why do you need to look directly into her eyes to grab her attention and discover the love of your life? According to Japanese researchers mutual eye contact synchronises spontaneous activity in specific areas of the brains of two iteracting people.

               This synchronized brain activity is crucial in establishing and facilitating  face-to-face social interaction  said the team from the National Institute in Japan.

                “Based on the enhancement of behavioral and neural synchoronisation during mutual gaze  we now know that shared attention is hard to establish without eye contact”- said Norihiro Sadato senior author of the study.

   To further explore this topic the team enrolled 96 volunteers who were not mutually acquainted and conducted tests to investigate the brain activity during situations with sustained eye contact.

 A note on eye-contact in romance

     Semantically speaking words are polysemous. Relevant meaning of a word will emerge in the context where it is used. An elegible bachelor can arouse passionate feelings in the mind of an equally passionate eye-contact, words are of no use, says  a    couplet in Thirukkural. Such a mutual gaze or a passionate eye-contact is capable of arousing a neural reaction and behavioural change among young men and women. A Japanese researcher Norihiro Sadato has informed about this as an endorsement of what a National Institute in Japan has declared.

     What the Japanese researchers have said about the role of eyes in the realm of mutual romance has been reiterated in about 2 couplets of Tthirukkural- 1082 and 1100.

     Highlighting the romantic role of eye contact has been referred to Kurunthogai (364); also in a poem numbering 305.

     The term in Tamil used by both Thirukkural and Kurunthogai to point out this love-born look is Nokku.”—Editor.------தொடரும்......
