“பூ
இடைப்படினும் யாண்டு கழிந்தன்ன
நீர்
உறை மகன்றில் புணர்ச்சி போலப்
பிரிவு
அரிது ஆகிய தண்டாக் காமமொடு
உடன்
உயிர் போகுகதில்ல கடன் அறிந்து
இருவேம்
ஆகிய உலகத்து
ஒருவேம்
ஆகிய புன்மை நாம் உயற்கே” –சிறைக்குடி ஆந்தையார்.
“The water bird ‘ Mahandril’ lives with its mate in inseparable
union. Even the obstruction of a flower between them seems years of separation
for them, so also, let us two (man and wife) who have taken two different lives
(of different sex) on this earth for fulfillment of certain duties and responsibilities (such as sexual
enjoinment, helping the needy, etc.) if only to avoid the misery of separation from each other
(in this and the future life) breathe our last in happy union with perpetual
